Iβve always been the one planning the route, finding the restaurant, checking if somewhere is really worth the detour and making sure the whole trip flows.
Now, that instinct has become my job: helping people travel through Spain with more confidence, less noise and a much more local point of view.

Hola, Iβm Nat
Founder & Lead Travel Designer
Iβm from Madrid, and travel has always been a huge part of my life.
Over the years, Iβve lived in different countries, travelled to more than 30, and somehow always ended up being the person who plans the route, finds the restaurant, checks if a place is actually worth the detour, and makes sure everything fits together.
But Spain has always been the place I know best, not just because Iβm from here, but because Iβve spent years travelling through it, coming back to the same places, meeting local people and discovering how different every region can feel.
How Atypical started
In 2022, my partner and I moved to Australia for what was meant to be just a few months.
Being so far from home made me realise how much I missed my culture, my roots and the way we live in Spain.
Atypical started as a way to stay connected to that. First through traditional Spanish cooking classes, then through travel recommendations, and eventually through the guides and planning services we offer today.
What began as a way to feel closer to home became a way to share it.
A few things I love
Favourite places in Spain
Hondarribia, San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, any little house surrounded by green fields in Asturias, and the north of Mallorca.
Favourite kind of day
Madrid markets, a long lunch, or a Sunday driving through small villages for wine.
Favourite neighbourhood shop
AlimentaciΓ³n Mediavilla.
Other places I always go back to
Greece and Portugal.
Every trip, starts with a conversation
